Driving Neuroplasticity in a Positive Direction

About the Speaker, Dr. Joyce Shaffer:

When I began incorporating neuroplasticity in my clinical work, motivation increased significantly. I’d always worked with clients on health matters. When I provided evidence-based interventions for their health, the response was usually: “Yeah. I need to do that.” When I started giving visual and metric data on the healthy impact those same evidence-based interventions could have on their BRAINS, the response was mostly: “Give me the guidelines! I’m doing this!”

Across the several decades of serving clients, this response to evidence-based interventions that could improve Brain Health AND Brain Power AT ANY AGE® has been appreciated. I’ve taught that, by the time you do everything that’s been associated with improving Brain chemistry, architecture and performance, probably the only side effect would be improved physical health!

Education is rarely enough. People want to do what is fun, easy, portable, culturally adaptable, free or low cost. Evidence-based interventions to enhance neuroplasticity which meet these criteria have the side effects of improved health and increased prosocial behaviors so, not only are people happier, but we might also have more peaceful coexistence.

Hacking Neuroplasticity: How AI Can Help Your Healthy Aging Brain, my new book, is available in October 2024. Multiple peer-review articles are open source. I provide Keynote addresses and workshops internationally on Neuroplasticity for Peace, Business and Health & have been an invited guest to TV programs including the panel of experts on the PBS series Second Opinion.
